Overview

• WWE brought the concept of the War Games back at the Survivor Series 2022 for the main roster
• The OG Bloodline has featured in the War Games twice, while the Judgement Day featured once in a big story
• The Bloodline 2.0, the team Cody Rhodes, and the Brawling Brutes were a part of the Survivor Series War Games once

The concept of the War Games was started by Dusty Rhodes, which was materialized in 1987 and was constantly pushed by WWE till 1998 before dropping it. WCW Nitro, AEW, and NWA had some such matches, although it was a phenomenon majorly in WWE in the late 1980s and the 1990s. The idea of the War Games was rekindled in the NXT roster.

In 2017, the War Games returned to WWE and many matches happened on the developmental brand. While Vince McMahon wasn't a big fan of the match, Triple H was, who reintroduced it on the main roster in 2022. Since then, the War Games match has taken place in every edition till 2024 and will also be a part of the 2025 edition.

Survivor Series War Games 2022

The Survivor Series 2022 featured the OG Bloodline and the Brawling Brutes in the key story. In the leadup to the Survivor Series 2022, the Bloodline was at its peak and had taken over the control of the entire WWE locker room. To challenge its supremacy emerged the Brawling Brutes.

The OG Bloodline had a well set team in Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn. On the other hand, the Brawling Brutes finally came to existence after multiple internal disputes. The team of Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Ridge Holland, and Butch was beaten by the Bloodline.

Survivor Series War Games 2023

The main story for the Survivor Series 2023 revolved around the Judgement Day. The faction had a well set team in Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD Mcdonagh. Drew joined them as the fifth member, making it a strong unit to reckon with. The force to fight it was difficult to be formed.

Cody Rhodes tried his best to gather wrestlers with common goal of taking the Judgement Day out. While Sami Zayn and Jey Uso were on the same page, Seth Rollins wasn't. Eventually, they got to the same page and Randy Orton returned as their fifth member, helping the team in its win.

Survivor Series War Games 2024

The Survivor Series 2024 featured the story of the Bloodline Civil War. On one side was the team of the OTC, who had the Usos and Sami on his side. On the other hand was the team Bloodline 2.0, which ran riot on SmackDown in the OG Bloodline's absence and disintegration. The two sides squared off at the War Games.

The Bloodline 2.0 featured Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. While CM Punk joined the OG Bloodline as the fifth member with a demanded favor, Bronson Reed joined the Bloodline 2.0 as its fifth members. The OG Bloodline beat Bloodline 2.0 and the favor came to bite Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns later.
