AJ Styles confirmed 2026 as his last year as an active wrestler and announced his retirement. The Phenomenal One might be involved in WWE, helping develop talents, and ensuring younger wrestlers become main event stars. The veteran felt the need to retire when he's in a great physical shape, before it gets too late for him.

Styles said that he could be a part of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas but wasn't sure of it, since there was no official confirmation from WWE's end about his match. The veteran said he wanted to retire on a good note and did not want to extend his career.

"I'll probably be at WrestleMania (next April in Las Vegas), but that's not locked in. The details aren't decided yet, but there’s no doubt I'll retire sometime next year. I don't want the fans to see me as anyone other than AJ Styles. That's the biggest reason. Before my body stops working, I've decided to retire," said Styles in an interview with Tokyo Sports. 

"Maybe I'll help develop young talent into main roster stars," - AJ Styles on his future plans

Styles didn't have any future plans, but felt it would be good to develop younger talents into main roster stars. "I haven’t figured it out yet (what he’ll do after wrestling), but most likely I’ll be working in WWE. Maybe I'll help develop young talent into main roster stars. But I don’t know for sure yet," Styles added in his statement.

AJ, just like Cena, has decided to retire in the upcoming few months. The duo will put an end to its rivalry at Crown Jewel, when they face each other one last time, which has been highly demanded by the fans.
