India dropped to sixth place in the World Test Championship after New Zealand’s nine-wicket win over West Indies in Wellington.
The big victory helped New Zealand move ahead of India and Pakistan, putting them alongside Sri Lanka in third place on the WTC table.
Australia continue to lead the standings with 100 percentage points, followed by South Africa in second with 75 percentage points.
Sri Lanka sit fourth with 66.67 percentage points, while Pakistan are fifth with 50, keeping the race for the final spots wide open.
India stand at 48.15 percentage points and could slip to seventh if England stage a comeback in the Ashes. Their next series is against Sri Lanka in August.
The win, powered by Jacob Duffy’s five-wicket haul, earned New Zealand 12 WTC points and strengthened their chances of reaching another WTC Final.
