Gill has begun batting at the Centre of Excellence as his recovery continues to move in the right direction.
He injured his neck on November 15 and has been out since, but his rehabilitation at the CoE has progressed smoothly.
Gill has had multiple net sessions in recent days, with the medical staff monitoring him closely and slowly increasing his workload.
He will undergo match simulation training in the next 48 hours, and if there are no issues, he’ll be cleared for competitive cricket.
Gill is likely to link up with the squad in Cuttack on December 6. He may miss the first T20I, but is expected to be available for the full series.
The five match T20I series will be played from December 9 to December 19.
