Hardik Pandya is all set to make his international comeback in the five-match T20I series against South Africa.
He suffered a left quadricep injury during the Asia Cup and has now completed his rehab at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Hardik announced his comeback with an unbeaten 77 off 42 balls for Baroda, helping chase down 223 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Hardik bowled a full spell in the match and will play at least two more SMAT games as the selectors monitor his workload and recovery.
The BCCI wants him available in both roles for T20Is ahead of the World Cup, making his return crucial for India’s balance.
The five-match T20I series begins on December 9, and Hardik’s return gives India a much-needed boost as they fine-tune their plans before the World Cup.
