Former tennis star Rennae Stubbs feels that Stefano Vukov's return to Elena Rybakina's team means that the end of Kazakh's partnership with Goran Ivanisevic is the latter's fault, as he would not stand for him at all in their relationship. Just a week ago, the 2022 Wimbledon star announced on Instagram that she was bringing her former coach to the 2025 season to bolster the preparation of the first Grand Slam of the Year, slated to take place on January 14 in Melbourne Park.
However, there is a catch in it, as the WTA is currently conducting an investigation into Vukov over the possibility of breaching the association's conduct, and he is not allowed to officially coach until at least the investigation is concluded. Later, he was suspended from WTA, and he won't be travelling to Australia with Elena to bolster her preparations for the 2025 Australian Open.
It is not necessarily just her decision: Rennae Stubbs
According to the Athletic, Ivanisevic was left blinded when he heard about Elena Rybakina bringing the 37-year-old to his team ahead of the 2025 season. In the same vein, Stubbs, who worked with tennis legend Serena Williams during the 2022 American farewell, feels that Goran would not be in his team if Vukov marked his return to Elena's team.
It's worth mentioning that Vukov was seen lashing out at Elena Rybakina on several occasions, and for the same, he has faced strong backlash from tennis fans and pundits.

“It is not necessarily just her decision. If the WTA feels like, and clearly they have evidence… they’ve obviously done years of investigation into this man’s behaviour, they’ve obviously interviewed many, many, many people. Not just one or two. Who knows what’s going on with the family, maybe the family don’t want him around, maybe the family are trying to remove him from her life as well,” the Australian said.
