This incident further made the line of officials gather around to collect things, like the result table, balls, and water bottles. Even the chair umpire has to wait for the winds to go before the game resumes.

Notably, this encounter saw interruptions due to powerful 60 km/h winds in the game, which further halted Medvedev's and Fils momentum in the game as they were not able to control their pace in the game. Fils was seen holding onto his cap to prevent it from flying off.

Daniil Medvedev opens up on weather conditions after his win

After the game, Daniil Medvedev opened up about the windy conditions that took place during their third and deciding set. The Russian, who managed to defeat Arthur Fils in the epic three-setter, said that the match was tough for him due to the windy nature of the game. The 29-year-old revealed that he had to play more tactically after such weather conditions in the game, which made their game more tough.

"The match was very tough due to the wind. It was tough to play tactically and technically. Whoever gets a bit more of a swirl of wind, they can frame it and it is a bit of luck. I knew that he had a break in the third and I knew I could break back and that is what I managed to do," said Medvedev while speaking about the weather conditions.
