Tennis sensation Tomas Machac has made history at the Mexican Open 2025 in Acapulco after defeating star player Brandon Nakashima in a thrilling semi-final game, becoming the first Czech player to make it to the final tournament.

The eighth-seeded player has emerged victorious in the epic three sets, 6-4, 1-6, and 6-4, after two hours and three minutes of intense gameplay. He is now set to face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the final showdown.

Machac has the great start of the game, winning the first set comfortably. However, Nakashima staged his comeback in the second set and executed some brilliant shots to win the set to level up the game.

However, the Czech tennis star kept his calm and resilience in the game and won the deciding set to storm in the final showdown. Despite winning fewer total points than Nakashima, Machac was seen capitalizing on key moments in the game to grab the win in the third set.

Notably, this thriller was a roller coaster for the 24-year-old Machac, who was struggling in the second set of the game after losing the rhythm but regained his composure in the decider match.

Machac's resilience and ability to handle the pressure were evident as he overcame the American star ranked number 42, who had advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Benjamin Bonzi, Holger Rune, and David Goffin.
