The Italian Open is now really close to the playoffs this season and it has been an iconic tournament to witness with some great matches coming up as well. Though there have been some unfortunate withdrawals from this competition as well, there have also been some comebacks. This was also the tournament where we saw Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal play in an ATP tournament after almost 2 years.

Speaking of Rafael Nadal, the King of Clay had an early exit in the tournament as he lost in two straight sets to Hubert Hurkacz in the 2nd round of the tournament. It is safe to say that El Nino has been eliminated and will not be featured in the tournament anymore. It has been a disappointing season so far for him and the people would want him to win another title in his last season. There has still been a strong crowd backing the legendary former world number 1 and 24-grand slam champion.

Rome respects the Spanish legend

Though this might have not been the best ending to the tournament by Nadal, there are still a lot of people who admire him and still cheer for him no matter what. After Nadal exited the stadium, he was met by a crowd who were chanting and clapping for him. This is a great gesture not only showing the admiration of the fans, but the popularity of one of the best players we have ever seen grace the tennis court. The atmosphere was phenomenal as we heard a loud crowd with Nadal raising his hands high.

This is great to see when even after a bad day at the office, there is a lot of appreciation for Nadal. The Spaniard has given us some of the best games that we could ever witness at all. To see a large crowd wait to see him and celebrate him shows how much the fans are inspired by the great athlete. This is a prime example of the mass appeal which was taken by a fisher.

This has been a season to remember for Nadal. Even though he has not made it far in the tournament, it is still good to see people acknowledge him for the legend he is. It has been a great journey for Nadal and we hope to get even more players into these games from his hometown. All we can do is applaud and admire the legend for it.
