Tennis sensation Marta Kostyuk has served in a way that seems inexplicable, resulting in an ace against Veronika Kudermetova in the second round of the ongoing Mutua Madrid Open 2025. Not even the Ukrainian star knew exactly what she did against Kudermetova, who could do nothing with her ace but could only watch the ball bounce twice in the service box.

Notably, the Ukrainian star was seen hitting the ball awkwardly. Yet, it has had a perfect spin. Requiring no action at all at the points. Thereafter, Kostyuk immediately apologised to her Russian opponent after a glance at the chair umpire to confirm.

Marta Kostyuk stormed into the pre-quarters of the Mutua Madrid Open 2025!

Coming to the game dynamics, Marta Kostyuk has stormed into the pre-quarters of the Mutua Madrid Open 2025 after a stellar win over Veronika Kudermetova in the second round of the game. The Ukrainian-born star has defeated the Russian with a scoreline of 6-0, 4-6, and 6-4 and stormed into the third round, where the two WTA stars will be looking to grab a quarter-final berth.

Meanwhile, Kosyuk again made the headlines when she defeated top WTA player Emma Raducanu in her opening round of the tournament. The 22-year-old tennis star defeated Raducanu with a scoreline of 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 before defeating Kudermetova to storm into the third round of the prestigious tournament.

“Emma was hitting the ball very hard in the warm-up so I think I just overstretched it on the body and it just got progressively worse. But I don’t think it's anything bad; it was just a very weird pain. I usually never have problems with my wrist or anything. I’ll probably fix it for the next match but it was weird,” Marta Kostyuk told Sky Sports straight after the match.
