The 31-year-old tennis star had a great start to the game, where she smacked long rallies and won exhausting points with her serves to take the opening set lead to gain an advantage.  Pegula continued her stellar form in the second set of the game, smacking powerful shots to thwart her opponent in the prestigious tournament after registering straight-set wins.

"Haha! Why would you say that? Like, I hope I win or it's your fault. I'm sorry. I know I'm being hard on you, but seriously, you can't throw that out there. She's feisty. Now she's going to be mad at you and she's going to want to kill me," Pegula said.
