There have been many talented Americans in the World of tennis who have given us some great performances this season, though the likes of Serena Williams and Coco Gauff come to mind right now, there are still a lot more great players in the setup. It is safe to say that the USA has had some great years in sports with some of the greatest and most talented players we have seen and cherished through the years.
One of the biggest talents from the USA is Jessica Pegula who is ranked at number 5 in the WTA rankings this season. She has given some great performances in her career, despite not having a major victory to her name as yet. Pegula has made it to 6 Grand Slam quarter-finals and has won 4 WTA singles titles, making her one of the most competitive players in the game who we have enjoyed watching in some great matches.
Pegula faces upset in Libema Open
Though we know how talented Pegula is, it has not been the best of seasons for her recently, where she has missed out on some big tournaments and failed to win when she has featured in them. She still had a bit of a chance in the ongoing Libema Open where she was the highest-seeded player in the draw. Unfortunately, she had to face defeat in the 2nd round of the contest as she lost to an unseeded player in Aleksandra Krunic in a gruelling 3-set match. The final winner by the Czech was the last straw for Pegula in the tournament which ruined her chances of a WTA title this season

This was one of the most shocking defeats in the Grass season so far which none of us expected at all. This was another underwhelming performance from Pegula who failed to take advantage of the chances she got yet again. We hope she can make a great comeback in the upcoming tournament.
