The round 2 of Wimbledon 2024 is still going on and it has been a great tournament filled with great excitement so far. There have been some incredible matches that have made us fall in love with the game once again. It is safe to say that this iconic Grand Slam event is living up to its name in this season as well.

The match that caught all of our attention was between Hubert Hurkacz and Arthur Fils. There was no doubt that Fils is one of the most talented individuals in the game right now, but he was still up against one of the high-seeded players in the game in the form of Hubert Hurkacz. There was no doubt that the Polish were the favourite going into the game.

Hurkacz's game ends in a heartbreaking walkover

This was turning out to be one of the best matches of Wimbledon this season and we were in for a big surprise when the Fils managed to take the first two sets of the game putting the Polish star under the pump. However, Hurkacz did not make it easy for the Frenchman as he went on to win the third set which brought him back in the game. This led to a gruelling battle in the third set that saw Hurkacz fall hard on his knees while returning a shot. The match went on till a tiebreaker where Hurkacz was struggling with his knee which was also strapped. In the end, he had to gift the win to Fils as the match ended as Hurkacz retired due to injury.

This was perhaps one of the saddest endings to a Grand Slam win which we never expected. It was still great to see Hurkacz try his best to continue the game, but eventually, he couldn't get through the game. We hope he can come back from this unfortunate moment going forward.
