I’m very happy to be in this position: Jannik Sinner
“It represents a great result of work ethic,” Sinner said. “Me and my team, it was one of our goals these years. But the most important goal is always to improve as a player and as a person, surrounding myself with great people. I think I can be very happy and pleased with what I’m doing and what my team is doing. In the last period, I’ve played some really good tennis. I’m very happy to be in this position.”
Andrea Gaudenzi, ATP Chairman, said: “Jannik’s rise to World No. 1 has been nothing short of remarkable. This is our sport’s most challenging and impressive accomplishment, requiring immense dedication, determination and self-belief. It’s reflected by the exclusive list of tennis greats who have held the top spot, with Jannik becoming only the 29th player to achieve the No. 1 ranking in over 50 years of history.
