Elena Rybakina has taken a major step towards personal growth during the off-season before the 2025 WTA Tour by pursuing her longtime goal of learning to drive. After a challenging year filled with injuries, team adjustments, and tournament wins, Rybakina is making the most of her off-season in Dubai. She has been actively taking driving lessons.

In a video released by Rybakina's driving school, the Kazakh demonstrates her new mastery of the vehicle.

In the clip, the 25-year-old flaunts her newly acquired skill and expresses gratitude to the strict instructor at Galadri Motor Driving Centre for their expert guidance throughout the process. The institute proudly announced in the same Instagram post that Rybakina had successfully passed the exam and obtained her driver's license.

Elena Rybakina made headlines at the 2024 Stuttgart Open when she revealed that she does not currently hold a driver's license. During her post-match interview after advancing to the final at the tournament, the Kazakh athlete stated her determination to obtain a driver's license soon. She also expressed that winning the Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turismo prize serves as a strong motivation for her to achieve this goal.

"I actually don’t have (a) driver’s license. So it’s going to be the goal, of course. I mean, I want (it) already for a long time, so that’s a good motivation," she said.

"I wanted to do it already long time, but I never have chance to be at one place for long. I did already couple of lessons. I was driving, but yeah, for sure that's the goal for this year outside of the court. And with this car, if I win, it's going to be one double goal. Hopefully I finish it this year." Rybakina added.

In her final competition of the season, Rybakina featured in the WTA finals at Riyadh. Although she got eliminated in the round-robin phase, she managed to pull off a victory against the reigning world number one, Aryna Sabalenka.
