Tennis star Coleman Wong has marked a historic career win after he defeated 13th-seeded star Ben Shelton in the second round of the Miami Open 2025. The 20-year-old star has stormed into the third round of the prestigious tournament, where he will be facing Adam Walton.
The two tennis had a powerful start to the game, forcing the opening set into the tie-breaker where the 20-year-old star player sealed the opening set. However, the American sensation staged his comeback and levelled up the game in the second set. The two-star players again showcased their resilience, forcing the third and deciding set into the tiebreaker. The Hong Kong-born star once again emerged victorious and stormed into Round 32.

Coleman Wong has reflected on his stellar win. The 20-year-old star revealed tough COVID times when he was out of action for one and one-half years. The young star has thanked his family, coaches, and teammates who were there with him through his highs and lows and supported him immensely. The Hong Kong-born star affirmed that the victory over Selton was a dream come true moment for him.
“I always trust myself to play in these big stages… I had a tough time [during] the COVID times. I didn't play for a year and a half and I'm really lucky my team keeps supporting me. I'm really happy. This is for you Hong Kong. My parents, my coaches, my team. They really helped me a lot from highs and lows. Playing against a guy like Ben, it's a dream [to do that], since when I was young. Playing big tournaments against top players, I'm really happy," Coleman Wong said.
