Tennis top seed Alex De Minaur celebrated his Miami Open 2025 victory with fans after winning against China’s Y.BU. The Australian player faced Bu Yunchaokete in the round of 64. It took him just 86 minutes to secure his win 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets and progress to the next round.

Minaur will now face Brazil’s top seed Joao Fonseca who defeated Ugo Humbert 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets in the round of 32 match. This will be the first time the two tennis players will meet in an ATP Masters 1000 event. The ATP No. 10 seed was too strong with his serves which gave him an advantage against Y.BU. Alex De Minaur is having a great season but the biggest problem for Minaur is failing to convert wins into titles. In 2025, he played in the Australian Open and lost in the quarter-finals against World No. 1 Jannik Sinner.

Alex then played in the Rotterdam Open and lost the finals against Carlos Alcaraz. This was his second straight final defeat at the ABN AMRO Open. Minaur played in the Qatar Open, Dubai Open and the Indian Wells 2025 Open tournaments but couldn’t make it big.

Though he has won more prize money this year he didn't win any titles which is very sad for him. But he is looking good at the Miami Open tennis tournament and winning here will also bring him huge rewards and up his ATP tennis rankings as it is a Masters 1000 event.

After his victory against Y.Bu, he ran straight towards his fans waiting in the stands and gave a high five. Minaur then thanked the crowd who all came to see the tennis match.

2025 Indian Wells Champion Jack Draper made a shocking exit at the Miami Open after his defeat against J. Mensik. The BNP Paribas Open finalist Holger Rune is also eliminated from the tournament after his defeat against R. Opelka.
