Tennis star Alex de Minaur has stormed into the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 tournament. The Aussie sensation has defeated the formidable ATP player Daniil Medvedev in the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-2. The Russian star seemed extremely weak this time and was visibly seen struggling on the clay court surface.

De Minaur had a fantastic start to the game, taking an early lead with his breathtaking shot and magnificent display under pressure against the 29-year-old tennis star. After that, the Sydney-born star continued his clay court domination in the second set and gained an advantage due to the Russian star's unforced error. De Minaur has showcased his scintillating play in his first clay court tournament of this year and is set to pose a great chance to win the title here, thanks to his red-hot form.

Alex de Minaur burst into epic celebration after storming into the quarter-finals of Monaco. The star player showcased extreme jubilation with a wide smile on his face. On the other hand, Medvedev was upset as he failed to live up to his expectations on the clay court surface.

Meanwhile, the Aussie star recalled the past clashes he had with Daniil Medvedev. The 26-year-old tennis star has talked about his tactical skills and pragmatic approach, which allowed him to win this game and storm into the last eight rounds.

“We’ve played each other many times and played each other on basically every surface. I tried to draw a lot on our last match at Roland Garros [in 2024] and see what worked for me. I thought I executed really well… I thought I was smart and tactically played the right way today.   I can be dangerous on this surface, so I’m very happy to play here and start off the clay swing with some good matches. All my energy and all my effort now go to tomorrow,” said De Minaur after the win.
