Former World number 2 and 2001 Wimbledon winner Goran Ivanisevic talks about the doping scandal concerning Jannik Sinner. The legendary coach says that he has struggled with issues like that in the past and feels that the people have to leave him alone and let him continue to play great tennis.

The doping scandal of Jannik Sinner has been a running debate this season which is still making the headlines. The Italian sensation has been playing some great tennis but still had to deal with a lot of harsh criticism while he was going through the struggles of this whole case. There have been a lot of popular figures in the World of tennis who have given their opinion on the matter as well.

Ivanisevic gives his opinions

While we thought that the Sinner doping stories were over, it turns out there are always some new people who join the debate. On this occasion, it is legendary coach and former 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic who has given his thoughts on this matter. Ivanisevic talked about the issue and brought up his struggles when he was dealing with Marin Cilic's doping scandal when he was his coach.

Ivanisevic said, "I sincerely hope they leave him alone and let him play. Tennis needs Sinner, With Cilic, I had to deal with WADA and similar bodies, I’ve been there. There are many complex people who want to destroy someone’s life. I hope for a positive outcome for Sinner.”

This is a very deep statement by Ivanisevic who thinks Sinner deserves to play and succeed the way he has been doing and deserves all the respect. The fact that he brought up his experiences with Cilic as well is a bold step and it is great to see him have Sinner's back and understand why he is important to the game being the top-ranked player in the season.
