'The wave is truly coming'- Roger Federer on the new generation of tennis taking over the sport

Swiss Maestro Roger Federer talks about the new wave coming in to the game of tennis after the end of the big three players coming near. The former World number 1 talks about the new wave shift in the game of tennis and what it has in store for everyone in the future.

The announcement of Rafael Nadal was enough to say that the end of the big three is coming really near and it turns out we are getting some more great and young players in the form of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner who are already regarded as the big thing in the sport. They are currently the current generation stars and have already achieved a lot of great feats in the game especially this season where they have taken over the Grand Slams and are currently the top 2 players in the rankings right now.

Federer on the new generation taking over 

There is a lot of talk going on the new wave and shift which the game of tennis is experiencing with the retirement of some big players in 2020's. Even Roger Federer spoke about the shift in paradigm within the game saying " Serena retiring. Andy Murray retiring. Rafa getting closer. Novak having a tough year, then winning Olympics was incredible. You feel like everything is shifting. Sinner & Alcaraz each winning 2 Slams shows that the wave is truly coming”.

Through this statement it is clear that Federer is learning how to adapt to the changes and has enjoyed watching the new generation of tennis players competing. It is safe to say that though we all will miss seeing all these legends on the court, we have to accept the fact that there is a future where new stars are making their way and to see Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner already establish themselves as the big stars in the game in this season and we will be looking forward to see how big they become in the future as well.
