Sumit Nagal is currently one of the upcoming players in the Indian setup. Nagal is one of the few players to make the ATP top 100 list in his country. He has been a promising player who has qualified for two major grand slams early in his career. There is still a long way to go for Nagal though as he is still searching for his first ATP title. The only victory he has had this season was the challenger in Chennai where he beat a higher-seeded player in Luca Nardi.
Nagal has not had the best last few tournaments so far where he went out in the round of 16 in the Markarrech Open, failed to qualify in the Miami Open and struggled in the first round of the Indian Wells masters. With these performances, it is clear that Nagal needs to show consistency in his game to reach the top level in the ATP tour. There is still time for him to show his best game in this clay season.
