Indian Tennis players have been coming up the ranks in the last few seasons. The number of legendary Indian Tennis players such as Leander Paes, Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi, and Rohan Bopanna are some of the most popular names. These people were the ultimate pioneers of Indian Tennis, taking it to different heights. There are now a lot of talented Indian players, especially in the singles category that are developing into incredible players right now.

One of the most popular Indian players right now is Sumit Nagal, who is currently one of the few Indians to make the ATP top 100 Tennis players. Nagal is also one of the few Indian men's singles players to qualify for the  Grand Slam tournaments. Nagal has shown a lot of promise in the ATP tours where he has made the knockouts multiple times already. He is still looking for his maiden ATP title, but we can still say he is one of the best Indian players right now.

Nagal gets his first win in clay season

It was important for Sumit Nagal to come back after the last two disappointing tournaments in the Indian wells and Miami Open. Nagal was up against Corentin Mourtet in the first round of the Grand Prix Hassan II. Nagal came back well in the match after losing the first set 6-4 to the Frenchman. The next two sets saw the 26-year-old Indian upcoming star dominate Corentin in the last two sets with scores of 6-3 and 6-2. Nagal will now be up against the high-seeded Lorenzo Sonego in the 2nd round. This will also be a chance for Nagal to come back after losing to Sonego in the Dubai Championship.

This is a great start for Nagal in the clay season and we will want him to continue his winning streak. Winning on one of the toughest surfaces in the game of tennis is something that will give him a lot of confidence going forward. He will still be looking for his first career title which has been eluding him for a long time. The match against Sonego will be one of the challenges he will want to overcome and get closer to winning the title at Marrakech.
