Tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has recently united with legendary player Bjorn Borg while dropping a short but playful message concerning their reunion. Notably, the two tennis players have always been seen sharing an extremely close bond, which has been bolstered by the time the duo has spent together representing Team Europe at the Laver Cup over the years.
Stefanos Tsitsipas's poor run in the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 tournament!
Notably, this reunion comes ahead of the next ATP tournament, the Barcelona Open, after his setback at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 tournament. The Greek star had a great start to the ATP 1000 Masters event, where he defeated Jordan Thompson and Nuno Borges in the Round of 32 and Round of 16, respectively.
However, Tsitsipas failed to continue his great form in the quarterfinals, where 23-year-old Lorenzo Musetti defeated him to end his title defense run. He has been one of the best players on the clay court surface, but failed to win the title here. After this setback, the 26-year-old tennis star shared a picture of himself smiling as he was being hugged by Borg ahead of the Barcelona Open 2025.
The star player will be facing Reilly Opelka in his first round of the prestigious ATP 500 tournament, where the two players aim to steal a pre-quarter berth.
Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas has recently shared that he would be interested in working with the former world number one. The Greek star feels that the 11-time Grand Slam winner's aura makes a great difference.
"Who would I choose, and why, if I had the power to take anyone as my coach? It would be Björn. The aura, it’s all about the aura. Why I choose Bjorn? It’s not because he’s sitting right next to me here. I feel like the aura makes a big difference. Sometimes it’s not what they tell you and how they tell you. It’s that intimacy that you feel of someone sitting next to you and communicating things to you in a spiritual way," Tsitsipas said.
