Roland Garros 2024: Coco Gauff enters quater finals after one sided straight victory against Elisabetta Cocciaretto

The day of the playoffs is not far away with round 4 of the Roland Garros starting today. This will be the last round just before the playoffs and we are all ready to see our favorite stars battle on the day. This has been an iconic tournament, and we all have witnessed some great games. The playoffs are coming up and this will be the chance for the players to get closer and closer to that Roland Garros crown.

The first fourth-round game we all were looking forward to was between World number 3 Coco Gauff, who was set to take on Elisabetta Cocciaretto, one of the season's surprise packages. Being one of the highest-seeded players, this was surely Gauf's game on paper, who has been dominating every player in the tournament till now. However, we also have to take the performance of the Italian who got here after beating a 17-seeded player in Luidmila Samasonova in the third round.

Gauf continues her wrath

This in no way was going to be an easy game for Cocciaretto, playing against an in-form player in Gauff, who has impressed everyone with her aggressive game style in the tournament. That was the story in this current game as well, as Gauff did not let Cocciaretto get back in the game at all. with scores of 6-1 and 6-2, this was another dominant straight victory from the USA's number 1 player. With this win, she is still alive in the tournament and will want to keep her Paris dream alive.

Gauff is now the first player in the Women's singles who has booked a place in the quarter-finals and she will be one of the favourites to win if she continues her great form in this competition. Gauff has so far had only one US Open victory last year and is only 3 more wins away from winning her first Roland Garros title as well. She has proven why she is one of the top-ranked players in the WTA scene.
