The Canadian Open is finally over and we have finally got our winner Australian Alexei Popyrin who surprised everyone with this performance. This was the third career title for the World number 23 and the first ever ATP 1000 title he has ever won. This is perhaps one of the biggest wins of his career so far which he will celebrate and cherish going forward.

Alexei Popyrin's victory was special because he also beat some of to ranked and seeded players in the game to accomplish this feat as well. This was one of the best weeks he has had where he beat top 10 ranked ATP players like Grigor Dimitrov, Hubert Hurkacz and finally Andrey Rublev. It is safe to say that he was one of the dark horses in the competition who emerged triumphant in one of the biggest ATP tournaments just before the iconic US Open Grand Slam event which will be coming up soon enough.

Popyrin's girlfriend congratulates him

There might have been a lot of people who were happy with Popyrin's Canadian Open victory, but there is no doubt that the happiest person in the world after this achievement will be his girlfriend Amy Pederick, who also turns out to be his physio. The post-match gave us a glimpse of how much the Aussie player was missing his girlfriend as well and she also congratulated him for his victory on social media saying " Proud doesn’t even come close you’re so incredible and beyond deserving! Enjoy every second my love Alexei Popyrin."

This is not only one of the best stories of the hard court season so far but also the biggest win for Popyrin where he beat some world-class opponents to get his hands on the ATP 1000 title. This is a win he will remember and it will also give him a lot of confidence going into the US Open in New York. Overall this has been one of the best weeks he has had so far and he will be cherishing this moment for a long time.
