The WTA has been as competitive as the current ATP tournaments as well. The most popular Women tennis players are featuring in the ongoing Stuttgart Open right now. There are players such as Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek. This tournament is one of the most popular tournaments in the clay season for the WTA competitors and it has been a great watch so far.

The match that everyone has been looking forward to is the game between Ons Jabeur and Ekaterina Alexandrova. These two players have been one of the upcoming talents that have been impressing us for years. Though Jabeur was the favourite to win this encounter, we could not rule out the potential of Alexandrova who has won big games in the past as well. Overall this was set to be an epic encounter.

Jabeur wins under pressure

The first set belonged to the Russian who surprised the top 10 ranked players in the first set. Ekaterina won the set convincingly by a score of 6-2 and put the Tunisian on the backfoot. However, Jabeur was never going to take it lying down and came back stronger in the second set winning it 6-3 and getting back into the match. It was now an all-or-nothing set featuring two iconic players. The last set was an intense battle between the two, but it was Jabeur who emerged victorious and qualified for the next round after dominating the tiebreaker completely.

This was perhaps one of the most intense games in the tournament, where Katerina really gave a great fight to one of the top ranked players in the tournament. Jabeur will finally breathe a sigh of relief after this encounter where she was very close to being knocked out of the tournament. What should have been a convincing win turned out to be an intense and gruelling game of tennis.
