Novak Djokovic's better half Jelena, has been a constant presence in his life since their days in high school. She continues to be a source of strength for him, especially in light of his early exit from the US Open, despite acknowledging the challenges of being in a relationship with a high-profile athlete.

Although Djokovic will no doubt be disappointed with his performance at Arthur Ashe Stadium, this setback does offer him the opportunity to spend quality time with Jelena, who is known for being present at his matches, even if she doesn't always find it enjoyable.

Jelena extends her support to her husband beyond the tennis court, as demonstrated by her public support amidst Djokovic's well-publicized COVID-19 vaccine controversy, where she wore a T-shirt with the phrase "I run with my wolf." This reference sparked curiosity on social media until Djokovic clarified the meaning at Wimbledon last year.

Djokovic fondly recalled a childhood memory of encountering wolves, expressing how the experience left him feeling both scared and connected with these creatures. He also referenced himself as Jelena's "wolf," alluding to the intricacies of their life together. Djokovic acknowledged the challenges of "running with the wolf" and admitted that it can be stressful for his wife at times. Despite this, he expressed deep appreciation for her unwavering support, emphasizing his love for her.

In an interview with Vesti Online, Jelina revealed the problems of being a wife to one of the Greatest Tennis Stars. She said that with the rise in publicity, the couple's private life is compromised, and they are unable to do whatever they like at a given time.

Novak Fell Short at the Flushing Meadows

Alexei Popyrin pulled off a remarkable upset on Friday by defeating Djokovic in the third round in four sets (6-4 6-4 2-6 6-4). This unexpected victory came after Djokovic had previously triumphed over Popyrin in earlier matches this year at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Djokovic attributed his loss to physical exhaustion from competing in the Paris Olympics weeks before the US Open, where he secured a gold medal in men's singles, marking it as one of the greatest achievements in his illustrious career.
