Tennis star Emma Raducanu beat Daria Snigur in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals of the Nottingham Open 2024. The 21-year-old star went on to finish the game in just over an hour with a straightforward second-set win, grabbing four games in a row to move ahead 6-4, 6-2.

Raducanu had three game-point leads in the match's closest game, and it was the second set's final game. However, the Brit star is competing on grass for the first time since his ankle and wrist surgeries last year, as she was sidelined from the Nottingham Open.

Meanwhile, speaking about the game here, there were a few further disputes, resulting in several overrules as both players expressed their disappointment during the game. The Toronto-born star had expressed crucial complaints about the line-calling in her first-round victory over Ena Shibahara.

Interestingly, she found it challenging to pinpoint her range and timing in the first few games against 22-year-old Snigur, who is ranked 127th and skilled on grass after winning the junior Wimbledon title five years ago.

I'm very, very happy with how I managed it, especially in the beginning, and came through: Emma Raducanu

Meanwhile, the young player was ecstatic to mark her great comeback at grass court as she missed the recently concluded French Open 2024. The 21-year-old star revealed that her match was very intense in the second round, but she tried extremely hard to win it. In addition, the Brit Star feels Daria gave her great fighting owing to her playing experience on the grass court, which gives her a threat in the game. However, the 209th-rank player was scared of the way her opponent was playing in the first set of the battle.

"It was an extremely tricky match. I knew from before I came on I needed to be on it today because Daria is a really good player and grass-court player especially. I'm very, very happy with how I managed it, especially in the beginning, and came through," Emma Raducanu said after the win.
