Katie Voleynets enters the record books

Katie Voleynets may not be the most popular Tennis player right now, but she has recently entered the record books. Katie was up against the experienced Arantxa Russ in the first round of the Charleston Open. This is a game filled with two tiebreakers making it the longest-ever WTA match of all time. Katie after winning the first set convincingly, faced 2 gruelling tiebreakers where she lost the second set but came back in the 3rd. This game went on for over 3 hr 48 minutes testing both the players on the day.

This might not be a grand slam victory, but it is still another American Tennis player who has etched her name in history. Volleynets will also be happy that she managed to win an intense match against a higher-seeded player. These are great moments we are getting to see on the WTA tour. We hope we can witness such intense games in the future as well.
