There have been plenty of upcoming young players in the game of tennis we have seen. These players have been playing some great tennis recently as well. We can easily say that there have been plenty of young players that have been giving iconic performances even against one of the best players in the world. These players have a bright future ahead of them in the season and the future tournaments following it as well.

One of the upcoming players was Czech republics Jiri Lehecka who possibly had the best runs in the previously concluded Madrid Open making it to the semi finals. The 22-year-old talent has played some great matches and was even praised by Rafael Nadal for his lethal ground strokes and aggressive ability in the game. Lehecka after the tournament was now regarded as one of the top young players in the tournament.

Lehecka to miss clay season

Though the Madrid open gave us a glimpse of what the Czech was capable of in the game, we also saw an unfortunate ending to his tournament as he had to retire due to an injury in tye semi final vs Felix auger Aliassime. This was a heartbreaking ending to such a promising start in the competition. The bad news is that it turns out he has obtained a stress fracture to the back which will keep him out of the game for a long time. It turns out Jiri will be missing the entire clay season this year.

This is really a very sad turn of events for Lehecka who was in decent touch and had caused a lot of upsets by beating world class players in this ATP tour. It is tough to think that one Madrid mishap has resulted in him getting a stress fracture and staying out of the game for a long time. With all this there is still some hope for the talented player as Jiri Lehecka can still get fit enough to play the Wimbledon which is one of the most popular tournaments in the world. We will be hoping he comes back to full fitness and win some big games.
