There have always been players who have gone on to form a legacy of their own in the world of Tennis. With the Holy Trinity almost at the end of their reign, it is up to new talent to take their place. There are a lot of players who are taking the place of the legends and these players are said to take over the mantle after the end of Novak Djokovic who is still leading the rankings in ATP.

One of the players that is set to take over the reins is the Italian young sensation Jannik Sinner. The 22-year-old has impressed everyone with his game and has been achieving a lot in the game. In fact, Sinner has been on a roll in this current ATP season and is right now considered the next big thing in tennis. With already a grand slam and victory in the Miami Open, he also had his eyes set on the Madrid Open. However, just like the season so far, there has come a surprising turn of events regarding the Italian superstar.

Sinner withdraws from Madrid

Just like every tournament, Sinner was looking good over here as well. In Fact, the world number 2 was set to play his quarter-final game against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. This was the chance for him to win another ATP title. Unfortunately, Sinner has officially withdrawn from the tournament due to a right hip injury. This is a sad turn of events for one of the best players in this season so far. Everyone wanted to see the young star conquer another tournament in this ATP tour. 

This has really been something which none of the fans can ever expect to happen. The fact that an in-form player like Sinner has withdrawn from the tournament where he was certainly one of the favourites to win is just heartbreaking for everyone. We will still hope that he recovers soon and is fit enough for the upcoming Roland Garros which will be the next grand slam opportunity for him.
