These two players have surprised everyone by reaching the playoffs among some of the best players in the world. Tabilo wins the darkhorse clash

This was really a match to look out for and see how these two dark horses compete against each other. It was Tabilo with his accurate winners and counter attacking style of play that took the first set comfortably scoring 6-3. This had put the Chinese under pressure straight away. The second set was the same story where Zhang Zhizhen was once again on the back foot and had lost the second set to the Chilean who was looking in great form in the game throughout.

This is officially the first time Tabilo has made it to a ATP 1000 semi final and he will be wanting to continue this great form going forward. He is just two steps away from winning his first title in Rome and has proven himself to be a worthy competitor. He will still have some tough matches coming up and it will be great to see how he handles the pressure. All we can say it has been one of the greatest stories of the Italian Open.
