'It pushes me...' - Stefanos Tsitsipas draws inspiration from Paula Badosa's Australian Open 2025 success

Tennis sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas has expressed how his girlfriend Paula Badosa's stunning performance at the recently concluded 2025 Australian Open has inspired him during a tough period in his career. Notably, Badosa made bold headlines with her great performances after reaching the semi-finals of the first Grand Slam of the year.

Tsitsipas, who faced an early setback after suffering defeat in the first round, shared Badosa's success, providing him a big boost and significant motivation. In reflecting on their relationship, the Greek-born tennis star noted that he felt privileged to offer the Spanish star advice during her run in Melbourne Park.

Notably, despite his first-round loss to 20-year-old Alex Michelsen, Tsitsipas remained supportive of his girlfriend throughout her campaign, even staying in Melbourne Park to cheer for her after his elimination.

“Her success gives me a lot of motivation. It was really impressive and deserved. I learned a lot from this process of how to get to a Grand Slam semi-final. I felt privileged that I could give her some small advice to help her en route to the semi-finals. She gave me the freedom to give some feedback and tips. Through my advice to her, I also learned things about myself in terms of tennis and how I see the court and how I approach my own game. It pushes me on,” Tsitsipas told ATPTour.com when reflecting on Badosa’s run.

On the other hand, the 27-year-old Badosa, who gave a magnificent performance and defeated world number three Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals to reach the semis, acknowledged Tsitsipas's support and urged the fans to continue backing him despite his recent challenges. The star player expressed her confidence in her boyfriend's ability and said he would bounce back from this loss. Their mutual support reflects a strong bond as they navigate their respective careers in professional tennis.
