The young tennis sensation had a great start to the year. Alcaraz made it to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open 2025, where he ultimately crashed out against 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic.

Following that, the star player wins the ATP ATP 500 tournament, ABN AMRO Open 2025, after defeating Alex de Minaur in the title clash. Later, Alcaraz made it to the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open 2025, where he suffered defeat against Jiri Lehecka in an epic three-setter.

The world number three is currently making bold headlines after winning his second round in the Indian Wells 2025. The star player will be looking to mark a historic three-peat here after winning the title in Indian Wells in 2023 and 2024. He will be next seen in action in the Miami Open 2025.

Speaking about the same subject, the 21-year-old Spaniard clarified that he does not think much about attaining the top position in the ATP rankings. Alcaraz stated that he is currently focusing on his game and playing good tennis, which will ultimately help him attain the top spot.

In addition to this, the star player feels that thinking about the ATP number one rank will add extra pressure on him, which might distract him from his goal.

“Well, it's something that it is in the mind, but I'm not really focusing on it. Because in every tournament I just focus on myself, I focus on, okay, I really want to play good tennis, I am focused on how I can be better, better player. You know, if I'm doing the right things in every tournament, the No. 1 is gonna come after. So if I'm thinking about the No. 1, I have to do good results, I have to win tournaments," Carlos Alcaraz said in the press conference.
