Wim Fissette has noted two major changes in Women's Tennis in the last 10 years or so. Iga Swiatek's coach claimed that every player has an improved first serve and a break. He felt that the game had gotten more physical than it was back in time, barring when Serena Williams played.
"Two crucial things for me. The serve, every player has a big first serve and a break really means a break, whereas 10 years ago that wasn't really the case. It was only when you played Serena Williams. Then the game has become so physical," said Fissette on the Inside-In Tennis Podcast.
After referring to the physicality of Women's Tennis, he added that it was not just about hitting the ball harder or with more spin, but also noted that the defense has become stronger. He noted that the players counterattack by moving quickly, which wasn't the case about a decade ago, when he felt the players used to return a slice or a loopy ball.
"Now the players are so strong and so fast from the corners," - Wim Fissette
"Physical, in a way that, of course, the players hit bigger and with more spin, but also from defense, they can move more quickly on the counterattack, whereas 10 years ago you hit a big ball in the corner and the ball was coming back with slice or a loopy ball," Iga's coach added in his statement.

He concluded by saying that the WTA players are currently very strong and play well through the corners. "Now the players are so strong and so fast from the corners. Those two things for me have changed the game completely," Fisette added in his statement.
