The emergence of some young stars in the game of Tennis is what makes it one of the most popular sports in the world. Carlos Alcaraz is one of the iconic players in the ATP scene who already has a very impressive career, having won 15 career titles, which include four Grand Slams at the age of 21. The Spaniard has given us some great performances and has impressed us a lot with his consistency and competitive spirit.

The ongoing season started off well for Carlos Alcaraz, where he has won three titles along with back-to-back Grand Slam titles, winning Wimbledon and Roland Garros. However, the backend of the season was slightly disappointing for the Spaniard, where, after missing out on the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, he faced early exits in Cincinnati and the US Open, which also ruined his chances of becoming a World number one at the end of the Grand Slam season.

Patrick calls Alcaraz emotional

The early exit in the US Open was what shocked the whole Tennis world. No one would've thought that Alcaraz would be eliminated by World number 74 Botic Van de Zandschulp in the second round. Many have criticised the current World number 3 for his recent poor performances.

One of the biggest names in Tennis who has cricticised Alcaraz recently is Patrick Mourataglou, who has given his insights on Alcaraz's poor performances at the backend saying, "He was exhausted, mentally exhausted. I am not surprised that he is saying that he had so many thoughts and so many emotions that he couldn’t deal with. That is exactly the consequence of someone who is emotionally drained."

This was not all as Moutaglou also compared him with legends as he further adds to the statement, "He’s very, very emotional. We’ve seen him cramp many times already. If you look at Roger, Rafa, and Novak, have you seen them cramp once in a match? All their careers? He cramped many times already, only at 20. He’s an emotional player." These seem like one of the wisest words from one of the top coaches in the game.
