'I have a lot of respect for a legend like him'- Novak Djokovic praises Rafael Nadal and hoping to play him one more time before he retires

Novak Djokovic praises king of clay Rafael Nadal and appreciates him as one of his biggest rivals in the game. Hopes to play the Spaniard before Nadal retires from the game completely.

The rivalries are the part and parcel of the game of tennis and as fans we always enjoyed them. One of the best rivalries in tennis in the current generation is Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The battle between the king of clay and the Serbian beast has been really epic as both the players gave everything whenever they were involved in any encounter on the court.

Not only do the players have 46 Grand slams combined but they share one of the best rivalries in the history of tennis. The two players were involved in 59 matches together where Djokovic has won 30 and Rafael Nadal has won 29. Looking at how close this matchup is there is no doubt that they have had many iconic games in the past. The fact that these players had made a habit of one upping each other every time they played we can say that they might have had some  great respect for one another's game.

Djokovic has been getting all the recognition deservingly as he has been breaking records every time, but we cannot leave out Nadal's contribution to the game at all. The Serbian Powerhouse has stated “I have a lot of respect for a legend like him, with whom I hope to be able to play at least one more time before he retires. He is a good person and a legend of our sport, he is my most important rival. In Australia, I said I hoped to see him in one or two tournaments and I hope to do that.”

This shows the amount of appreciation players show for each other and what makes them special. Djokovic also wishes for  one more match against Nadal before the Spanish superstar retires. This is a great and humble gesture from one of the best in the world and we hope we get to see another encounter between the two legends. These will be the moments of tennis we will remember for a long time.
