' I always wanted to dominate the tour like ...'- Aryna Sabalenka opens up on the responsibility of being World number 1

Belarusian superstar and 3-time Grand Slam winner Aryna Sabalenka opens up on her responsibility of being the World number 1. The US Open champion hopes to continue her dominance in the WTA scene just like her Iga Swiatek and Serena Williams. Some big goals made by the her which she hopes the achieve in the future.

The WTA Finals have begun and the two players who will have the most focus among the 8 best players in the World are Aryna Sabalebka and Iga Swiatek who will be battling it out to finish as the World number 1 at the end of the 2024 season. They have currently been the top-ranked players in the setup and we all will be looking forward to seeing these two battle it out once again.

Sabalenka on the responsibility of being the World number 1

Though it is a close battle it is Aryna Sabalenka who is currently the World number 1 due to her incredible performances in the Hard court season so far. The Belarusian has recently opened up on the responsibility of being a number 1 player as well. Sabalenka has opened up on her goals saying, "I always wanted to dominate the tour like Serena did one day, like what Iga was able to do for so long, and she’s  still close, it’s all going to be decided after this tournament, so who knows?."

Through this statement, it is clear that Sabalenka wishes to continue dominating and becoming the World number 1 for a long time and it is great to see her have such high aspirations in the sport. Sabalenka also discloses how she can be an inspiration by dominating as World number further stating, "It’s a responsibility, it’s a good opportunity to speak up for women. I like to have this responsibility and I like to represent women’s sport as strong and powerful – women who can fight for their rights.” It will be great to see Sabalenka achieve all this in her career going forward.
