Speaking about the game here, the Serbian served at 4-5 in the opening set of the game, in which he offended off four set points. However, the world's number one star, who went on to jump to a 0/40 lead, finally broke Tallon to close the first set.

Meanwhile, the second set was very straightforward, as Novak Djokovic saved all seven break points and converted four of his nine opportunities. Djokovic, who turned 37 on May 22, has become the oldest semi-finalist at the Geneva Open 2024, making his first appearance at the ATP 250 clay.

The 37-year-old was ecstatic after winning the game, as he also felt that he got the chance to find some good serves, which helped him play a solid tennis game against him. The star player talked about his changing mindset during the second set. The Serbian had thanked his fans and coach, who had supported him immensely to win the game.

'I was lucky...'

"Great win. I thought that the first set could have gone his way easily because I think he was the better player for most of the first set. He had three set points. I was facing 0/40 at 5-4 for him, so we could have been having a completely different direction of the match if he converted those set points," Novak Djokovic said in his on-court interview.

"I was lucky to find some really good serves and from that moment onwards really played some good, solid tennis. He did help me a bit with the mistakes, I think [the way] I played the second set was really good. So I want to thank everybody again for the support and presence today on a cold day. It's really nice to see you all," he added further.
