French Open 2024: Matthew McConaughey calls Novak Djokovic 'GOAT' after his magnificent win in 4th round to storm into quarters

Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who was present at Court Philippe-Chatrier for his match against Francisco Cerundolo, was equally thrilled by the Serb's performance.

The world number one Novak Djokovic never stops to amaze his fans with his excellence in the ongoing French Open 2024. Notably, Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey was extremely pleased with the Serb's performance at Court Philippe-Chatrier for his match against Francisco Cerundolo in the fourth round of Roland Garros 2024. In addition, the 25-year-old Argentine was beaten by the World No. 1 in four hours and 39 minutes, despite his grave injuries.

The Academy Award winner tweeted a picture of himself sitting among fans in the lower box after the game. McConaughey was seen in the picture pointing at the court. He called Djokovic the greatest player of all time in his caption, hailing his resilience during the thrilling five-set match that helped him enter the quarterfinal of the game.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood star stood on the court to mark Djokovic's historic 24th Grand Slam victory in August 2023 at the US Open. In addition, he gave World No. 1 a hug before the winner came back together with his family.

Meanwhile, speaking about his game, it was the second five-set encounter of the rivalry, against Cerundolo. He spent four hours and twenty-nine minutes on the clay court battling Lorenzo Musetti, winning 7-5, 6-7(6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-0, before facing the Argentine to enter the quarterfinals of the game.

The GOAT, more than a mental machine: McConaughey

The celebrity, a fan and friend of Djokovic's, took to Twitter, formerly known as X, to share his thoughts on the Serbian's latest comeback.

"The GOAT. more than a mental machine. @DjokerNole," McConaughey posted.

"He's friends with my wife [model Camila Alves], and then I got to know him through her," McConaughey said. "We've had some dinners along the way, and I'm a big fan. What a surgeon, and a warror. The resilience of what he's done, he's amazing."
