There have been many players who have shocked us with the news of their retirement, especially in the game of Tennis. The decision to retire is always tough for a player and there are a lot of reasons leading up to that decision. The likes of Bjorn Borg and Dominic Thiem decided to retire from the game, which shocked many Tennis fans.

There was also another shocking retirement back in 2022 when 4-time Grand Slam winner Ashleigh Barty, whose retirement came as a surprise as well. The Australian was only 26 years old and had already reached her peak when she became the World number 1 back in 2019. Nobody expected her to take this decision since she was one of the top contenders in the game and had a great fan following, which would make her one of the players to watch out for.

Barty comes out of retirement

This season there is great news for all the Barty fans as now she has decided to come out of retirement and play invitation doubles with her fellow compatriot Casey Delacqua in Wimbledon this season. It will be great to see the Aussie back in this tournament since she also won the last tournament she featured in as well back in 2021. This could be the comeback everyone has been waiting for to see their favourite former World number 1 back and hopefully, she can still give some great performances after a long break from the game.

This will be a moment to remember for all the tennis fans, who would have been upset after her surprise retirement decision from Barty, especially in her prime. It will be great to see her back in action in a tournament that she has enjoyed playing and has some great memories. We all are glad to hear that their legacy of Barty is still alive and we as fans will be glad to see her in the Grand Slam tournament along with one of her best friends.
