Ahead of his first-round match at the ATP Paris Masters 2025, Carlos Alcaraz reiterated the need to reduce matches in a Tennis calendar year. The Spaniard had vouched for something similar during an interview at the Laver Cup 2025.
Alcaraz claimed that the players play a lot of tournaments and do not have a lot of time to practice and rest. "I can't answer with an exact number. But obviously, they have to do something with the calendar. The number of tournaments that we have to play, I think, is too high. We don't have such, you know, a good period of time that we can practice, we can rest," Alcaraz said.

"Even during the season, I think it's week after week after week, and we don't have the chance to have a week just to prepare pretty well the tournaments or what we have ahead in the season," the 6-time Grand Slam champion added in his statement.
"Probably they are going to kill us in some way," - Carlos Alcaraz
During the Laver Cup, Carlos had opened up on the issue. The star player claimed that the players had a tight schedule where they had to play way too many matches. He had even wondered about the well-being of the players in the future.

"The calendar is so tight, a lot of tournaments, no days off, or not as many days off as I want. I’m the kind of player who thinks there are a lot of mandatory tournaments during the year, and probably during the next few years, there's gonna be even more tournaments. I mean, probably they are going to kill us in some way," Alcaraz said during the Laver Cup 2025.
