World No. 3 Aryna Sabalenka announced that she would not be participating in the tennis event at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France, in July 2024. Notably, the star player said that it is "too much for the scheduling" with the games taking place on clay between the grass season and the hard-court swing. This week, Sabalenka is back on the court in Berlin following the "worst experience she had in her life on court" at the French Open 2024.

Notably, the great player aims to make her presence strong at Wimbledon, which is set to commence on July 1. The star player was in magnificent form, as she ended up finishing as the runners-up in the ATP 1000 events of the Mutua Madrid Open 2024 and the Italian Open 2024. The ultimate Roland Garros winner and World Number One, Iga Swiatek, had outclassed her in the final game of both events.

Following the same, she suffered a defeat against Mirra Andreeva in the quarterfinals of the French Open 2024. Notably, the 17-year-old Russian star went on to eliminate her. The Belarusian-born star shared that losing to a young teenager was the worst experience of her life.

I feel that this is safer and better for my body: Sabalenka

“I’m not going to play the Olympics. Especially with all the struggles I've been struggling with the last months, I feel I have to take care of my health. It's too much for the scheduling. You have to sacrifice something. I prefer to have a little rest to make sure physically and health-wise I'm ready for the hard courts...and I'll have a good preparation before going to the hard court season. I feel that this is safer and better for my body, Sabalenka said.

"It was the worst experience I had in my life on court. I've played while being ill, I've played with injuries, but when you have a stomach bug and you don't have any energy to play and you're in the quarter-final of a Grand Slam, that was really terrible experience. But it is how it is.," Sabalenka said about that loss.
