All you need to know about Emma Raducanu's salary after first round exit from US Open 2024

There are a lot of players who were looking forward to making a comeback into the Grand Slam event. One of the star players that the fans wanted to see perform was Emma Raducanu. The former World number 10, had one of the best success stories at the venue where in 2020 she became the first qualifier to win a major at the age of 18. Though she has not been in the best of form off late we all were looking forward to seeing her make a comeback in this tournament.

We all had hopes for Emma Raducanu in this tournament, but unfortunately, it didn't go to plan as she lost in the first round to Sofia Kenin. The British superstar faced a major setback in the first set itself and though she made some ground in the second set, she still came up short in the first-round game against Sofia Kenin. This was definitely not the way she would have wanted to perform on her return to the tournament at all and an early exit like that was not expected at all.

Emma still made money after first round disaster

There is no doubt this was a disappointing end to Raducanu's campaign in the Flushing Meadows and it was sad to see a talented player like her exit really early from the competition. However, it was not all bad for the player since this US Open had one of the biggest prize pools in the entire tournament, and though Raducanu's US Open dreams ended in disaster the former British number one player still made great money. Raducanu will still go home with $100,000 to her name which is still a lot of money for a player who was eliminated in the first round of a Grand Slam event.

The fact that Raducanu will still go home with that prize money after having one of her worst performances in a Grand Slam says a lot about how big this competition is. We still hope that we see another triumphant tournament where we can see her rise up the rankings once again. Raducanu is still early into her career and we all want to see the young player succeed and win hearts like she did in 2020.
