Tennis sensation Alexandra Eala has stormed into the quarterfinals of the Miami Open 2025 after star player and world number ten Paula Badosa retired from the fourth round due to grave injuries. Notably, the Spanish star didn't turn up for the game, which allowed the 19-year-old star to storm into the last eight rounds.

Just a day ago, Australian Open 2025 champion Madison Keys suffered a shocking exit in the third round of the prestigious event to Filipina star Eala with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2. The world number 140 has shattered the Keys serve six times to mark her stellar win in her WTA 1000 tournament.
Eala had a great start to the game, hammering blistering shots and showcasing great rallies with the American sensation and taking an early lead. The 19-year-old tennis star dominated the second set, gaining an advantage over the 29-year-old star to knock Keys out of the 1000 tournament.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old teenage sensation has already etched her name in the history books as she becomes the first-ever player from her nation to mark a win over a top-30 opponent as she defeated 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in the second round.

The star player is now set to face world number two, Iga Swiatek, in the last eight rounds, where the two tennis stalwarts aim to book a semi-final berth. Eala might face a tough challenge while facing the five-time Grand Slam winner.
"All players on the circuit have envisioned themselves being successful at this stage at some point, all of us on the WTA circuit share the same goal of doing well and winning Grand Slams. In the end, it's the ultimate goal, winning the Grand Slams and improving your ranking position. I think this is a good step towards where I want to be," Eala said after the win.
