At TNA's Slammiversary, the main event match lived up to the hype and went beyond expectations. Top TNA talent Moose, Joe Hendry, Frankie Kazarian, Josh Alexander, Nic Nemeth, and Steve Maclin competed in the 6-Way Elimination Match. Given the numerous rivalries and feuds among the six contenders, it's hardly surprising that the match had a few shocking turns.
Hendry's elimination of Moose was one of the night's biggest surprises, but even more so was Alexander's effective heel turn and Hendry's elimination. Nemeth would eventually become the next TNA World Champion when Kazarian and Nemeth were eliminated one more time. At first, Moose attempted to ally with Kazarian, but this backfired as everyone attacked Moose and Kazarian to force them to leave the battle.
Hendry was the fan favourite and got off to a good start, but Moose was quickly back on his feet and targeting Hendry, only for Hendry to hoist him up and suplex the Champ onto the floor. Back in the ring, Alexander renewed his feud with numerous suplexes on Maclin, followed by suplexes on Kazarian and Nemeth.
Moose returned to the ring next and stomped on Hendry in the corner, but he was quickly pushed to the floor along with everyone else, and Nemeth did a move over the ropes to smash him into the floor once again. Kazarian then went on a cutter-hitting spree, culminating in a pin on Moose, but Moose kicked out.

Nic Nemeth becomes the TNA World Champion
Moose and Kazarian attempted to establish another alliance, but it fell apart immediately, and Moose soon tried to knock Hendry out of the fight. Moose then shifted his focus to Nemeth, and Alexander was blasted with a big dropkick in the corner. Moose lost his balance but recovered to hit a superplex on Alexander, but Alexander kicked out, escaping elimination.
Alexander attempted to pin Nemeth, but he was kicked out. Nemeth would then repay the favour by knocking Alexander down and going for the pin, which he would secure, eliminating Alexander. That left Nemeth and Kazarian as the final two in the contest. Kazarian attempted to lock Nemeth in a submission, but Nemeth was able to reverse it and unleash a super kick, forcing Kazarian to kick out at the last minute. Nemeth struck Kazarian with the finisher, which eliminated him. Nic Nemeth is the new TNA World Champion.
