WATCH: Bryan Danielson drops worrying update on his health

All Elite Wrestling superstar Bryan Danielson has revealed that he may soon go under the knife. The former WWE star has revealed that he could undergo neck surgery before the end of 2024. Bryan Danielson is set to take on Swerve Strickland in a title versus career match in London during an All-In 2024 event. 

Speaking to Jim Ross, the wrestling icon said “Even the way I feel right now the odds are that I need to get neck surgery before the end of this year. that’s the reality and I have accepted the reality deep down.”

Bryan Danielson had already said that 2024 would be his last year in professional wrestling. The former WWE superstar debuted in All Elite Wrestling in 2021 and has been a permanent fixture on and off the screen. His match against Swerve Strickland could be the last time we get to witness Bryan Danielson in the ring for a long time. 

What next for Bryan Danielson?

There are lots of speculations as to what the future could hold for Bryan Danielson. The wrestling superstar had signed a three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling. While a return to WWE was mooted it seems unlikely that Bryan Danielson will make the move. 

WrestleZone recently carried a quote from Bryan Danielson during his chat with Gorilla Position. The former AEW champion said, “So I don’t know, because I don’t know what that looks like. So like kind of how it looks now is I help with creative a little bit. And what that usually looks like is it’s not necessarily a formal creative meeting or anything like that. Tony [Khan] will call me and run some ideas past me, or he’ll say, like, ‘Hey, I was thinking of this. Do you have any ideas for this, or something like that.”

While Danielson has put his career on the line he also knows the reality that he cannot keep going at it in the ring. During his chat with Gorilla Position, WrestleZone quoted the AEW star as saying, “I'm really walking back this idea of wrestling forever. I just don't think I can do it. And especially the style of wrestling. Because this is what’s kind of happened: Doctors have said, ‘Okay, we clear you to wrestle this kind of wrestling,’ and I can't stop myself from doing this kind of wrestling.”
