Similarities between Mariah May betraying Toni Storm and in turn getting betrayed by Mina Shirakawa

Mina Shirakawa survived an attack from Mariah May at AEW Full Gear. The star wrestler in turn attacked her former friend, marking the end of their friendship. The move comes a few months after May attacked Toni Storm. Both incidents have some similarities. While Mariah was successful in betraying Toni, as she failed to do so against Mina.

Back in the Owen Hart Tournament, May claimed a win and attacked Toni out of nowhere. When Toni handed over the cup to May, she took the title and smashed Toni from behind. At AEW Full Gear, Mina was dancing with May to celebrate her title win. She similarly tried to attack Mina from behind the way she did with Toni.

When May attacked Toni, the former World Champion was shocked to the core. She did not anticipate the move and was heartbroken. Likewise, even Mina Shirakawa did not anticipate the move. Just like Toni, Mina was shocked but was not heartbroken. She handled the shock pretty well.

Usage of blood in both betrayals

May totally went after Storm and took her out. She used the heel worn by Toni to beat her. The blood flew out of Toni's head. Mariah May liked it and used blood to her advantage. She poured the blood onto herself and enjoyed her attack. Something similar happened at AEW Full Gear between Mina and May.

Unlike Toni, Mina fought back. She kicked the mic with high heels on her legs. Mina then delivered a fiery spear through the table to take May out. In both instances, the fans were in shock. They however liked both segments and sent their approval with the chants of "Holy Sh*t".

After Mina took May out, the blood flew from May's head. It was similar to Toni whose forehead was full of blood. The difference in both incidents was that Mina was ready to take on May. She was not as emotionally attached as Storm was. It looks like the creative team worked on the two stories regarding the similarities.
