After weeks of being sidelined by a knee injury, the wrestling star finally broke his silence on Twitter and said that he will now need surgery, the first in his career. “Unfortunately, I suffered a knee injury, that’s why I’ve been out a couple of weeks, and I am going to be out some more because, for the first time in my wrestling career, I have to get surgery, which really sucks,” Hammerstone shared.

He says he is still hopeful about getting better despite the setback, saying, "I think I've been blessed to be able to do it this long and avoid it." With any luck, it appears to be a simple process. It should just take me a few weeks to return to the ring.

Hammerstone played a key role in generating momentum for TNA

In their scheduled triple threat tag battle, Hammerstone's partner Jake Something will fight alone after Hammerstone was removed from his Final Resolution bout, as the announcement explains. Hammerstone has been a key component of TNA's recent success, thus fans were unhappy to see him absent from the event. Despite raising doubts about his immediate ring career, his injury gives him optimism for a speedy comeback.

The announcement of this injury comes at a critical juncture for TNA, as Hammerstone has played a key role in generating momentum for the organization. Fans who are anxious to see him return find optimism in his promise of a speedy recovery, but his absence creates a vacuum given his explosive in-ring style and unwavering drive. On November 29, Hammerstone last competed in the Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl match at TNA Turning Point.
