Formula 1 is one of the most popular racing platforms that we have ever known. These are the people who have made the world of racing as good as it is today. The ones who are leading the season so far is the Red Bull team with 2 wins and 4 podium finishes to their name. The likes of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have been in tremendous form this season and are already the favourites for the season.

The qualification for the Japanese Grand Prix took place yesterday. This qualification gives an advantage to the racer going into the race day. This was still one of the closest racing battles that saw some surprising results going forward in the Suzuka circuit. It will be interesting to see which racer will have the advantage going into the final race.

Qualification standings

It is no surprise that Max Verstappen , the defending World Champion, achieved another pole position. It wasn’t that easy as his teammate Sergio Perez who finished 2nd and  gave a great fight but still fell short of the pole by 0.66 seconds. It was McLaren's Lando Norris who finished 3rd and surprising experienced campaigners in Carlos Sainz Jr, Ferando Alonso, Oscar Piastri who finished at 4th, 5th and 6th respectively  . This was one of the most disappointing qualifying races for Ferrari star Charles Leclerc, who finished 8th just behind former world champion Lewis Hamilton by 0.20 seconds. There was also a battle for the 9th position between George Russell of Mercedees and VCARB's Yuki Tsunoda where it was Russell who pushed past Tsunoda by 0.405 seconds. talking about the next 10 positions. Daniel Riccardo, Nico Hulkenberg and Valterri Bottas were the next three finishers at 11th, 12th and the 13th position and were struggling in this race. Alexander Albon and Estaban Ocon have not reached their peak yet and finally finish 14th and 15th in the qualification. The last 5 positions as usual belong to Lance Stroll who could not live up to his Aston Martin team mates performance, Pierre Gasly having a forgettable performance finishing 17th, Kevin Magnussen on 18th while last two positions go to Logan Sargeant of Williams and Guanyu Zhou of Stake.

This will only make the Japanese Grand Prix even more interesting for the fans. Though this race was important for getting a bit of a boost in the upcoming event, the real winners will only be decided in the race tomorrow. There can be more surprises coming our way going into this contest. Whether the Red Bull team will dominate again or there will be another champion in store for us we just have to wait and see the results, which will give us some closure.
